Aideen Flood
Aideen has been an English teacher in a secondary school in Ireland for over twenty years. During her summers she has worked abroad teaching English as a foreign language in Spain and has travelled extensively to more than fifty countries. She has worked with development organisations in Kenya and Sierra Leone and with refugees and migrants in Calais Camp.
I fervently believe that when you volunteer, you get far more out of the experience than you give and that Margaret Mead was right when she said that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. We’re here to make life better for those who need our help and using my teaching skills and knowledge helps me to do this. It’s an absolute joy to speak with people from different cultures, with different life experiences and forge that human connection.
